It’s No-See-Um’s fault
PAX (9): Caffey, Lefty, Pinkey, Scar, Special K, The Real Woody, turkey, Wilson, Topless
Well, another week and no one scheduled to Q so YHC grabbed it. The idea was simple, an easy Q to run that would leave everyone wanting to sign up so I don’t lead another. No-See-Um was going to show up after a late night, so I promised him no stadiums…. But we received a message just before the BD that he was going to be a no show so all bets were off!
The usual disclaimer and off we go.
Went over to the flag pole in front of Milton and two PAX pulled in as we were circling up. Some SSH, Weed pickers, toy soldiers, hillbillies, arm circles, and COVID’s.
Thang 1: Mercan Mile
Figured we would start off a little easy, with a true Mercan mile distance wise. Every time we stopped it was 25 Mercans and we stopped a total of 6 times.
Back over to the stairs and down to the all mighty hill.
Thang 2: Hill
Grab a partner and a cinder. No need to worry about counting, we are doing the exercise for an entire song and the PAX are switching out. One pax running up the hill while the other exercises. Continue switching and continue the exercise for the entire song.
- Overhead press
- V Ups – added a burpee at the top of the hill
- Skull crushers
- Curls again (I needed my 105 reps!)
I had more exercises planned at the hill, but I could feel the PAX were a little spent and I feared a mutiny might break out if I kept going. To the main stadium!
Thang 3: speed work(ish)
Headed to the track for some speed work. Sprinting the straightaways and lunge walking the curve. Did that for one lap and I was through with that.
Thang 4: 10 minutes left
10 minutes remaining, and No-see-Um was nowhere to be found, so I broke my promise. To the stadium for a simple up and down each of the four rows to finish out the 10 minutes. We did it in 6 and headed back to the flag.
2 exercises to finish out the last two minutes, and we were done.
Praises for strong marriages, and the hope that brings, prayers for Lefty’s M and his ribs, and other injuries. Prayers for all those traveling.
This BD was an example of an easy one to Q but, in my opinion, one that was a burner for sure. Sign up to lead! We need you! Caffey out.
