12 PAX posted for the last day of the quarter. I had told Boomer a while back on a ruck that we would burpee broad jump up the hill at some point before I handed off Q. Since today was the last day, here’s how that worked in.
Warmup
Mosey around to the top side of the lot and circle up. IC SSH, cotton pickers and copperhead squats. No more time here … beatdown’s calling.
The Thang
Mosey to the hill and down. First out of the gate was a burpee blaster up the hill. 1 burpee, 1 broad jump, 2 burpees, 2 broad jumps and so on up to the top of the hill. There was no way around pain on this one. Quote of the day came from Ha-Ha after finishing, “I never thought I’d feel relieved to get back to a round of burpees.” The group got through this a bit faster than I expected. I considered a second round briefly, then thought better of it. We headed to the playground pavilion for 5 MOM. All on our 6 and once we started the challenge was not to let your feet touch ground until I called “recover”. Flutter kicks, 6 inch bounces, leg lifts, LBCs, Freddy Mercury, and American hammers among others to keep us going roughly 5 minutes straight. Next we did alternating OYO sets of dips and squats, starting with 30 reps and decreasing by 5 reps each round.
With that finished, we headed to one of the baseball fields and gathered at one corner of the outfield. Partner up for a DORA with 100 Merkins, 200 mountain climbers and 300 LBCs. Time was closing in so we headed back toward the flag. We were greeted at the soccer field pavilion by some early FIA arrivals and 2.0’s. We stopped briefly just below for a couple rounds of derkins and irkins. After that we gathered at the flag for a couple minutes of round robin Mary. Thus ends the quarter at Widowmaker.
COT / Moleskin
Glad to see sign-ups taking off for Q at Widowmaker and Rubicon. If you haven’t done so already, go to the F3 Alpha Locations page and click on the Q schedule link below Widowmaker or Rubicon. Find a day you can commit to and put down your name. If everyone Q’s at least once this quarter, we’ll all get a great and engaging variety to our BD’s (besides, you’re already on the site to read this).
