A mathematician, an author and a football coach walk into a bar…

AO: The Bridge

When: 03/03/2023

QIC: Speedo

PAX (5): Birdie, Maguire, Potter, Speedo, Zima

Preamble:

YHC signed up to Q the Bridge a couple of weeks ago and it was on my calendar.  For some reason, I forgot and HC’d for the Boneyard.  Thankfully Birdie sent a reminder on Thursday so plans were quickly modified and a beatdown was created.  This morning as I came downstairs to stretch I actually laid eyes on the wienke sitting on the printer.  Five minutes after I left the house I realized I had forgotten the printout. My memory is only half bad so I thought up a modified version on the way to the Bridge.

Multiple cars drove through the shopping center after I arrived and thankfully a few of them contained F3 HIMs.  After a quick disclaimer, we were off.

Warm-O-Rama:

Run toward the green and around the loop to the veterans memorial for:

  • Weed pickers x10 IC
  • Hillbillies x12 IC
  • SSH x12 IC
  • Hangovers OYO
  • Michael Phelps OYO

The Thang:

The first thang was focused on the legs.  We did 5 each of:

  • Monkey humpers
  • Squats
  • Star jumps

Run a lap around the green.  Repeat with sets of 12, 20, 14, and 6.  We ran in the opposite direction as we came back down.  If those numbers have anything to do with the Fibonacci sequence then I’m just a genius.  Otherwise, I just made them up to keep the guys guessing.

Back to the deck or whatever it’s called between the restaurants and the green for WMD Crawl.  Bear crawl 10 steps then 5 Wide merkins, 10 steps and 10 Merkins, 10 steps and 5 Diamonds.  Rinse and repeat for a total of 3 rounds. Fun!

After a walking 10-count, we moseyed to the bridge for some CLIMBing:

  • Carolina dry docks
  • Lunges (alpha count)
  • Imperial walkers
  • Merkins
  • Burpees (modify to broad jumps if needed)

Start with 1 each on the east side of the bridge then climb up, run over the bridge, and down the stairs where we did 2 of each.  Rinse and repeat up to 6 of each.

Taking advantage of the low wall next to the bridge we did some Butkuseseseses.  Known for his beefy thighs we did single-leg step-ups to really work the quads.  After the night air was lit up by our on-fire thighs we switched to the other leg.  Most of us started with our dominant leg and quickly regretted that as the non-dominant legs were slow to catch up.  Someone self-described themselves as a dumbass which instantly became a more cultural-sounded Dumas.

Staying in the same general area we did some Up-Down-Overs on the nice soft concrete.  With high knees chopping, on Q’s command drop down face-first on the ground and roll over sideways 360 degrees and back up with knees chopping.

After another walking 10-count, we moseyed back to the flag for some mary including:

  • gas pumpers
  • J-Lo’s
  • BBSUs
  • LBCs

Time

COT:

Thanks was given for strong bodies and the fellowship that brings us all out and up.

Prayers for safe travels and success as Potter’s kids’ high school basketball team made it to the state finals in Milledgeville.

Prayers for the Hillseeker men.

Blood drive on March 10.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Signing up to Q is a powerful motivator for me even if I had temporarily forgotten about this one.  Thanks to the men who could post today.  I aim to never make a workout easy.  We wake up way too early to come out for something that is not difficult.  As we noted after COT, it’s especially nice at the Bridge since at the end of the workout you (a) have completed a workout, (b) will have a better day because of your efforts and (c) it’s almost the weekend!

Thanks for allowing me to lead.  I love you guys.
