On this date in history…August 11th 1973 is considered the Birthday of hip-hop.  DJ Kool Herc performed his unique style of breakbeat on the turntables (DJ’ing) and often times talking over the record in cadence (emcee) at his sister’s birthday party in a rec room basement in the Bronx, NY.  Today we will pay homage to this man with a soundtrack of old / new / haha just kidding it’s all from the golden age of hip-hop
