10 Pax made it out of the fartsack for a Nacho Libre beatdown over at the Hooch. Now we did have one (smart)sack…I guess that Foghorns had the pax do too many calf raises at the widow-maker on Saturday. YHC was wanting to do some Pull-ups so when the opportunity to Q came up I just couldn’t turn it down.
The Warm Up: Run across the parking lot and stop at every horizontal line and do 1 Burpee, the next line do 2 Burpees, all the way up to 8 burpees. (Seems like Moon Shine waited in his car until after the Burpees and then he decided to join us.) After the Pax was warmed up we moseyed over to the church for a few side straddle hops and some weed pickers. (Side note…when Nacho Libre is calling cadence his SSH’s are in perfect form/I blame Miller Time’s long arms for throwing me off) After the SSH’s the Pax made it to the play ground behind the church.
The Thang: Every minute on the minute the pax did 5 Pull-ups, 10 Merkins, 15 Plank Jacks. We ended up with 23-24 minutes (YHC lost count) So that makes 115 pull-ups, 230 merkins, and a bunch of Plank Jacks. The pax crushed it. Boomer looked like he has been doing pull-ups for his whole life. There was a lack of mumble chatter. I was expecting Sunshine to come through for the pax but the best mumble chatter had to go to FLO. After a quick 10 count we were headed back to the flag. Indian run back to the parking lot. Now on the way back to the flag we did 5 merkins increase by 1 at every horizontal line. I believe we made it to 12 merkins. That put us back at the flag right at 6:15.
COT: I saw that the MTB club did a get to know the pax. The 6th man in the circle gets to tell about themselves. How many of us were actually there for the naming of every pax. And if you were there do you remember? So I borrowed the idea from Cherokee and Moonshine was the lucky pax today. He came to Christ about 12 years ago. He grew up in North Carolina and went to UNC. Coach K is really hard to spell so it ended up between White Lighting and Moonshine…and white lighting is way too cool. So there we have it a tradition that I hope can catch on.
Prayers for families traveling and the upcoming forth of July holiday.
