About a year and half ago this YHC heard about a little group called F3 that met at a local park in town. At the time, a fellow Him named Sweeper, who has since gone MIA, mentioned the gathering and the rest is history. It was great to catch up with some ole friends today at Big Creek where it all started. Just like that very first beatdown, the faces present greeted me with open arms and encouragement. A constant reminder that F3 is not just a workout, it is community, and it is accountability. Let’s Mosey!!!
We ventured around the park toward front parking lot for warm-up:
- SSH
- Weed pickers
- Phelps
- Moroccan Nightclubs
- Sun gods
Finished warm-up with a round of ATM’s- alternating shoulder taps/merkins 1,2,3 count /regular merkins OYO. 10 reps each excercise holding plank between sets.
The Thang
Now that were warm, we headed to the park entrance to begin our Route 66 routine with a little twist. The front part of Big Creek is one big circle with numerous light posts. Each post would be an excercise chosen by the roll of the dice. (2 dice total) 2 lucky PAX were chosen to roll at light post. The breakdown of excercises were as follows:
1- V-ups, 2-Merkins, 3-Burpees, 4-Lt. Dans, 5-Big boy sit-ups, 6-Squats
We totaled 2 rounds around the AO while YHC randomly increased the reps from 5, 10, and 15 throughout our trek. On our 2nd round, we averaged 15 reps. The mumble chatter was rampant after 1’s and 3’s became our bread and butter; but all PAX pushed to the end of the finish line just like the last scene of “Chariots of Fire.”
Mary consisted of a little popcorn:
- Freddy Mercury- Swiper
- Swimmers-Snake
- Swim Jacks- Body
- J-Lo’s-Clyde
