Final thoughts:

As it is Father’s day, it’s only fitting to give a shoutout to all the dads.  Whether you are a new dad, old dad (Respect), yet to be dad, or the not so traditional dad, I thank you for being the men you are, everyday.  As a dad myself, I know I am never going to be up for dad of the year. I have plenty of shortcomings as a dad, I yell at times, I get frustrated at times, I feel like I do not spend enough quality time with my kids, and the list probably goes on for much longer than I know.  But everyday is a new day to do better than the day before. To work harder at being a better version of myself. To be the version of myself that my kids deserve.

That opportunity starts for each of us at 5:30 am, in the heat and in the freezing cold.  We push and challenge ourselves and each other daily. We feel physically stronger through all of our hard work, but as we all have learned, and the sadclowns of Cherokee county will soon find out, we are not getting better only for ourselves.  We are stronger for our 2.0’s and our M’s. We are constantly building better versions of ourselves which will trickle down to the next generation. It is our example that teaches our kids how to act and what is important. Them witnessing our dedication to our health and our community is the way that we pass on these attributes.  Kids learn more by watching what we do, they don’t really care about what we say. Us taking our DRP, and working to be the best version of ourselves, even when conditions suck, shows our kids our dedication not just to F3, but to them, whether they truly know it or not.

So, gentlemen, I raise my glass to you today.  Thank you for being the men you are.
