Slack DM exchange between YHC and Inseam 4 days prior to the beatdown:

 

Inseam:  Say you’re traveling message.  You have Q Thursday and signed up to Q both AOs Friday.

YHC:  LOL.  I get back Wednesday night so should be good for Jailbreak and one of the Friday AOs.  Appreciate the heads up.

Inseam: Lol yw.  A true legend would figure out how to Q both…

YHC:  (thinking face emoji)

Inseam: Q by proxy.  Same BD.  Turn the happy little accident into a focal point.

YHC:  Or a FaceTime remote Q.

Warm-O-Rama:

YHC is abruptly awaken by his M and asked if he’s still planning to Q.  Proceed to throw on clothes and speed recklessly to the AO at exactly 0530 to call FaceTime Inseam at Grindstone and commence WoR with my shoes still untied.

The Thang:

Explained we would be having a friendly east vs. west competition in real time this morning.

Rules:  every PAX must compete once before repeat and then keep same order after

 

Event 1 – football toss

  • Round 1: Burpees – 5 winner / 10 loser
  • Round 2: Burpees – 15 winner / 25 loser
  • Round 3: wolverines – 5 winner / 10 loser
  • Round 4: wolverines – 15 winner / 15 loser

Event 2 – sprint to 50 yd line and back

  • Round 1:  merkins – 10 winner / 20 loser
  • Round 2: merkins – 20 winner / 40 loser
  • Round 3: merkins – 30 winner / 60 loser
  • Round 4: merkins – 50 winner / 50 loser

Event 3 – football punt

  • Round 1: squats – 25 winner / 50 loser
  • Round 2: squats – 40 winner / 80 loser
  • Round 3: jump squat -25 winner / 50 loser
  • Round 4: jump squat -80 winner / 80 loser

Event 4 – bear crawl to 30 yd line and back

  • Round 1: LBC – 20 winner / 40 loser
  • Round 2: LBC – 40 winner / 60 loser
  • Round 3: LBC – 60 winner / 80 loser
  • Round 4: LBC – 100 winner / 100 loser

We had enough time to make it to the end of the first even in round 1 at a time with just enough time for one last tie-breaking event.  Benny with the 50 yard punt to give the westside the win.

A very fun Q that actually worked!  Great opportunity to embrace a new challenge and find a creative way to tackle it.
