Values… Metallica vs Megadeath
AO: Grindstone
When: 01/20/2023
QIC: Inseam
PAX (13): DirtyMO, Inseam, jugdish, Krystal, Snowman, Soul Glo, Spit Valve, Stiff Arm, Swiper, Wheels, Single Barrel, Hail Mary
Preamble:
Nice number of prerunners. Good friendly eastside vs westside banter on slack. Read a good chapter in a good book that spoke about the values we choose for ourselves in life and how we measure our success. An example of Megadeath and Metallica were used. Boom…BD planned.
Exicon Definition of 1st and 10:
1st & 10
100 yard field marked at 10 yard increments. Perform 10 Merkins, 1 Burpee (11’s) at the 10, sprint the remaining 90 yards. Recover jog back to the 20. Perform 9 Merkins, 2 Burpees, sprint the remaining 80 yards, recover jog to the 30. Repeat until all 100 yards and 11’s have been completed. Plank/core exercise until remaining PAX complete.
Warm-O-Rama:
Hit play on a list of Megadeath and Metallica playlist. Run around. Circle up for the usually SSH, Weedpicker, Copperhead squat, and something else.
The Thang:
1 and 10s down the field: Burpees and Mercans
1 and 10s up the field: Bonnie Blairs and Summo Squats
Mosey over to the PainGround for some partner up routines of running the loop and Derkins/Pullups
Hard work and high heartrates kept the cold away.
COT:
Welcome and name the new guys. Pray for Wheels’ family and child in heaven.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
The TNT I shared:
Life is a series of problems we try to solve. We have problems, some are just better problems than others. Warren Buffet has money problems. The hobo on the street also has money problems. Buffets are just better problems to have.
By what standard do you measure yourself? Dave Mustaine measured his success by selling more records than Metallica. Therefore, he admitted in an interview that he did not feel successful.
Self Improvement is prioritizing better values, choosing better things to give a f*ck about, because when you give better f*cks you get better problems, and when you get better problems you get a better life.
Bonus content:
Good values are reality based, socially constructive, immediate and controllable. Think Honesty vs Popularity. Good value examples: honesty, innovation, vulnerability, standing up for ones self, standing up for others, self respect, curiosity, charity, humility, creativity.
