NOOOOOOOOO. NOT DAN TAYLORS

AO: NLB Beatdown

When: 01/15/2022

QIC: Suarez

PAX (20): Ace Ventura, LifeLøck, Lightweight, PitStop, Pothole, Red Ryder, Suarez

Preamble:

YHC showed up early, excited for a new experience.  To facilitate a beatdown for the men of NLB is an honor, and can be stated be largely within the primary mission of F3.

There was an excitement in the air as PAX (NLB and otherwise) began to arrive.  Time to get to work.

Warm-O-Rama:

Suarez took the lead, with a quick run then back to the basketball court for warmup.

Side Straddle Hops

Imperial Walkers

Weedpickers

Windmills

The Thang:

PAX counted off forming 5 groups.  There were 5 stations, cycling through each station for 45 seconds.

Station 1 focused on triceps.

Station 2 focused on abs and supporting muscles.

Station 3 were variation of Merkins.

Station 4 was jump rope.

Station 5 varied side straddle hops.

There was still time leftover?!?!  Suarez chooses to punish every single one of us with a round of Dan Taylors (1 squat, 4 lunges, followed by 2 squats, 8 lunges, so forth and so on).  While I normally having nothing but love in my heart for Suarez, it would not have been wise to ask me how I felt about him in that 5 minute span.  The sentiment was shared a bit between groans of pain.

COT:

COT began with naming three FNGs.  Welcome to GLOW, Birthday Suit, and Two-stroke!

One of the FNGs celebrated being three months sober, well done sir!

A moment happened at COT that is important in why we do F3.  During prayer requests, one PAX requested a prayer for his mother, who found out today she is going into hospice care.  The PAX in question began to cry, and EVERY man there came in and gave him a group hug, and gave a specific prayer for him and his mother to heal as they go through this very difficult situation.  I have never personally believed in the old trope of “men shouldn’t share their feelings”, and it was a raw moment where we all came together to support another man struggling with something very difficult.

Other PAX asked for support with their personal and family struggles. We prayed that the men going through this program continue to dig into the obvious strength they’ve displayed so far.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Men celebrated their hard work with pizza and Oreos (MAYBE not the healthiest choice…. but sometimes you should just treat yourself!).  There was some wonderful second F moments where we all got to know each other better, talking about our lives, aspirations and goals.  This is a day we all not forget anytime soon.  Looking forward to visiting for another beatdown again in the future.
