13 Men answered the Gladiator call this morning. With a clear sky and somewhat cooler temps I thought today would be a good day to try and do it all including the #IronPax challenge starter set.
Warmup:
Quick mosey to tennis court parking lot, followed by –
SSH, Weed Pickers, Hillbillies and add in some dips on nearby picnic tables.
The Thang:
Short mosey to turf field with some side shuffle to loosen up those legs.
- Lt Dan’s across the soccer field, plank for the six.
- 5 merkins on any painted line and run in between to other side of field.
Now that we were warmed up, legs were jelly and arms were weak it was time for the real fun to begin. On my F3 flag trip to Cherokee a few week’s back they introduced me to the CLIMB, I felt it was time for The Gladiator to experience it.
C…. Crab Cake
L… Lunge
I… Iron Cross
M… Mountain Climber
B… Burpee
We ascended with 1,2,3,4,5 – 2,4,6,8,10 – 3,6,9,12,15 and 4,8,12,16,20 – Yes @Devito that was 50 burpees, still 25 short!
By this time the grunting and groaning was noticeable, I mistook it for appreciation. So we added in another field of Lunges and 5 Merkins at every painted line.
I wanted to get in the #IronPax challenge workout to see how these men would do and they proved their worth. I explained the challenge had a flashlight and clock setup to check your time, I had to explain a few times that yes it was 200 yards of bear crawl just for fun.
Cant wait for the real #IronPax workouts because if that was a starter set August is going to be a long month. We went over our 45 minutes completing the challenge so mosey back to flag for COT.
COT:
Always a pleasure getting in a Q beatdown and seeing men get stronger every workout makes it worthwhile. Prayers for all those battling injury, @Beauty rest up for your VQ on Thursday.
As always @Spandex had a fresh pot of coffee for parking lot coffeteria.
