I want to take a minute to thank the Men of The Kodiak for continually stepping up and offering to help others in need. The Men at The Kodiak continue to impress with their Q’ing ability and impromptu beat downs. You are reaching out to helps others in need who have fallen on hard and life changing times. Let’s continue to grow, expand and pick up those men in need of something more. Keep waking up in the early hours, keep venturing out of your comfort zone and always encourage your fellow man.

Let’s get to it, 12 PAX reported at The Hurt Locker this morning on a cold (No Wind) morning to play with my new Balls of Fury. Anyone see The Mole?

The THANG:

Today I introduced the group to my “Balls of Fury”. This was comprised of 3 different colored balls:

Yellow representing the repetitions (20, 30 ,40, AMRAP, Your choice, etc…)

Green representing regular exercises (merkins, burpees, ssh, etc…)

Orange representing routines (Burpee Mile, Bropee’s, Indian run, etc…)

The object is to have a pax draw a ball alternating between green and orange. Drawing and performing the said exercise or routine and pulling a yellow ball for the rep’s. The Q’s job was to quell any mumble chatter and keep the intensity up for full effect.

The only issue we had today was Cricket decided to go into his Disco dance routine in the middle of out Star Jump’s. Apparently, the song “September” by Earth Wind and Fire stirred up some special feeling for him. After about a minute of “Tripping the Light Fantastic” we switched to a little AC/DC for the remainder. We were able to keep up the intensity for the full 60 minutes to finish up with a quick Flutter Kick session at the flag.

Overall the Balls created a successful and grueling beat down, at least there were no 300lb logs, and everyone got to play.

COT & BOM

Moleskin

Everyone told the group what they were thankful for in the BOM as well as praying for those in need that are close to them. I reminded them that we are all here for each other and that you shouldn’t hesitate to reach out if you need to talk.

I think The Mole may have snuck out early.
