The Upside Down, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Mike and Eleven. If you don’t know what all this means then it is time you go find Stranger Things on Netflix. Since season 2 released on Friday there has been a lot of watching of said show in YHC house. If this show will not give you the willies running through the dark woods I don’t know what will.
YHC had the Q for today and wanted to explore some new areas of the Caney Creek AO so with flashlights and headlamps turned on we mosied out of the north parking area into the woods for the 1/4 mile run to the “Upside Down” (or the south parking area, your choice). Since TO is on the IR he drove his car around to the other side.
The trail is narrow and uneven as we ran down hill to Caney Creek and back up a very steep hill to the oval gravel trail at the top of Mount Caney. We gathered together at an overlook and warmed up with:
- SSH
- Cotton Pickers
- Imperial Walkers
After which we set out a circuit around the top of the hill:
- 20 Merkins
- Run half way around the oval
- 20 Squats
- Run down stairs to the parking area and back up
- 20 Lunges
- Run back around to the starting area
- 20 Dips
Next round
- 20 Derkins using the stone bench
- Run to other side
- 20 Copperhead squats
- Down/up stairs
- 20 Dips
- Run back to start
- Flutter kicks for the 6
Next round
- 20 Diamond Merkins
- Run to other side
- 20 Dips
- Run down stairs to rock pile
Choose a nice rock and circle up
IC 2 rounds:
- Curls
- Overhead Press
- Rows
Return rocks and run back up stairs around and down other side of Mount Caney to the trail to return to the right side up.
Circle up at the North parking pavilion for Mary
- Dieing Cockroach (Roll Tide)
- Freddie Mercury (Nurse)
- 6 inches combo of LBC, 6 inch bounce middle, left, right
- Dolly (Moonshine)
- American Hammer
Good to see out early for November 1st. It was fun to see a new play ground for workouts. I’m sure it will be used more in the future. Buy a headlamp!
Looks like we will have a VQ from a NLB brother next week. Come on out to support him.
Prayers for TO’s injury and corrective surgery scheduled for 11/14.
