The longest 21 ever
AO: Widowmaker
When: 11/19/2022
QIC: Zohan
PAX (15): Cox, Dinghy, Feathers, Flo, Ha-ha, Mater, Meatball, Morphine, Scrooge, Skip-pe, Speedo, Tenderfoot, TMI, TURK, Zohan
Preamble:
Last night I was goading the Nirvana pax, who were Q-less, to storm the Widowmaker. Alas, Avis stepped up to led his VQ there. Good man!!
Finishing the Pre-ruck with Speedo there was already a good crowd waiting at the parking lot and more were coming. It was exciting to start the day with such a good group.
Warm-O-Rama:
Mosey around the parking lot and into the soccer field. Circle up at the center for SSH, “TMI”s (Toy soldiers with legs high up TMI-style), Windmills and Bat Wings – a combo of FW arm circles, backwards, seal claps and overhead clap, all done without lowering your hands.
The Thang:
21s – like 11s but longer. YHC announced we’ll be splitting them up.
1st quarter – across the long ends of the soccer field. Start with 20 Merkins and 1 Absolution. Proceed till 16 and 5 and we all meet at the center. Squats and a few Monley Humpers for the 6.
2nd quarter – across the short ends of the soccer field. On one end 15 Merkins – mixing Wide and Diamond. On the other end 6 Bonnie Blairs alpha count. Proceed till 11 and 10. Calf raises for the 6.
3rd quarter – across the diagonal of the field. One corner starting with 10 Stagger Merkins and on the opposite corner starting with 11 Butterfly Sit-ups. Proceed till 6 and 15. Waiting for the 6 we did some SSH and then high planks with various arm and leg raises.
4th quarter – across the other diagonal. One corner starting with 5 T-Merkins (similar to Hand release merkins, when your hands leave the ground spread them wide and then bring them back) and on the opposite corner 16 American Hammer done 4-count. Finish till 1 and 20.
Next stop would have been the pavilion, but seeing we only had about 7 minutes to go YHC quickly altered the plan a bit and we run up the stairs in the parking lot to partner up. One partner stays to do AMRAP Lunges while the other partner Bear Crawl down the stairs and Bunny Hop back up. then switch. A lot of mumble chatter on that selection but most PAX handled it bravely.
With about 3 minutes to spare we continued with some Mary – Flatter Kicks, Rosalita, Gas Pumpers and to top it – 6 Burpees done in slooowww cadence.
COT:
I know other regions, including Cherokee and Gwinnett are doing something called ‘The 6’ – whomever was #6 at the Count-O-Rama steps into the circle and introduces themselves, as sometimes we get to work with men from other AOs and we don’t know who they are. The format is similar to that of an FNG, just without the naming. The 6 tells us how how long he’s been doing F3, how he got named, what does F3 means to him, etc. In Gwinnett they record it and post it in a dedicated Slack channel so that everyone can get to know the men in the region. I liked the idea and we gave it a try. The 6 was Turk. (I’ll upload his video).
Naked-Man Moleskin:
I hope I was able to keep the PAX warm this morning as promised on Slack. Leading BDs is a sure way to get me out of bed in these cold and dark morning. I appreciate this group of men that inspire me and challenge me.
