Counting Sheep

AO: The Hooch

When: 06/28/2023

QIC: BallBoy

PAX (27): Angus, Animal, BallBoy, Birdie, Dinghy, Half-Dozen, HIPAA, Humperdinck, Maguire, Mater, McCracken, Meatball, Mounty, Piggy, Pigtails, Popper (Dan Richard), Potter (Matt Rowand), PuffDaddy, Saint2O, Scrooge, Spackle, TURK, Wolverine, Zima, Tightrope, Utah, Ironhide

Preamble:

It has been a minute since my last Q but I knew we could have a good crowd so planned accordingly.  I figured if I kept everyone counting they wouldn’t have time to complain…

Warm-O-Rama:

We started with a mosey around the parking lot with some high knees, butt-kickers, and slides. After circling up we did some SSH, Windmills, and hamstring stretches. To complete the ‘warm-up’, we completed a round of Mercan-Jax which consists of:

Mercans:Plank Jacks in a 1:4 ratio.
1 Mercan, 4 Plank Jacks up to 5 Mercans, 20 Plank Jacks and then back down to 1

PAX noises indicated warm-up complete

The Thang:

A short mosey over to the low wall and we completed a descending round of Dips and Derkins, starting with 7 of each and descending to 1 of each.

The counting travelers then headed toward the high school, crossing the road like a herd of deer (or maybe sheep would be more accurate based on speed) and stopping at the trail entrance for orientation.

PAX were instructed (in 2 groups due to the size of the herd) to perform a Squat Thrust and Smurf Jack at the first light post, mosey to the next and perform 2 of each, continuing until completing 10 light posts. Some Mary was completed until the Six was in and we moseyed on to Monkey Humper Hill.

Having used up a little more time than expected, YHC called an audible on the modified Dora that was planned and cut the total reps in half. However, the ‘modified’ part of said routine kept it exciting:

Modified Dora:

Exercises: 50 Mercans, 100 2-Spoons Style Squat Jumps, 150 Overhead Claps
Partner 1: 3 Burpees before starting reps of given exercise
Partner 2: Mosey to top of hill, perform 3 Alpha-count Bonnie Blairs and return
3 Burpees were performed each time a PAX returned to home base before beginning the cumulative reps
Those finished early would continue with Overhead Claps and running until the Six was in

YHC lined up the troops for a long Indian Run back down the path until we reached the road. PAX lined up along the road to greet passing cars with some Dry Humps:

10 Carolina Dry Docks
10 Monkey Humpers (rears to road preferably)
Descending reps to 1

As we were out of time, the herd of PAX carefully crossed back over the road and moseyed back to the flag.
