Shiny Sevens

AO: Rubicon

When: 06/13/2023

QIC: FannyPack

PAX (11): Avis, Dipstick, False Start, FannyPack, Groundhog, Home Alone, Pinkey, Zohan, CPAP; Sleepy Joe; FNG Guano

Preamble:

4 HC’s became 11 PAX in nothing short of a miracle, including 2 down-rangers, an FNG, and a Kotter (Home Alone).

Even with the noisy slack-recruiting of No-See-Um for Academy, the Rubicon showed itself, once again, as the true source of rejuvenation – the veritable ‘life-blood” – of F3 Alpha.  Kinda.

Warm-O-Rama:

We start with a quick mosey past the playground to the parking lot by the vegetable garden for:

  • SSH
  • Windmills
  • Weedpickers
  • Imperial walkers
  • Arm Circles fwd & back
  • Circle-burp

The Thang:

On the way back to the FOD we stopped at the playground for a morning call.

At the FOD, we did a 7 of Diamonds from my laminated, 8.5×11 weinke (sp?).  (This thing is two years old and lives in my trunk.  When I don’t have time to plan a BD from scratch, or if the Q fart-sacks, it’s always handy)  Exercises and counts below:

Time Around: Exercise: Count:
1st Absolutions 7
2nd Captain Thor 14
3rd Imperial Squat Walker (Single-Count) 21
4th Side Straddle Hop 28
5th Merkins 21
6th Lunges (Single-Count) 14
7th Burpees 7

We were all working on the last round w/Burpees when YHC called time and we headed back.  False Start led us in 15 LBC’s to wrap it up.

COT:

Welcome Guano, named for his enjoyment of spelunking.  Great to see Home Alone, who likely started around the same time as me & is back.  DR’s Sleepy Joe from Cherokee (supporting Guano’s first BD) and CPAP from Charlotte (Gastonia).

Reminders about upcoming events- Beer Ruck, Weekend Quadrathlon Thing.

Dipstick noted great turnout for the blood drives (and yet he wants more…).

Prayers for me as my son and I travel to San Antonio to help my parents with house projects.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

This was a beautiful morning, great group of guys including new faces, hopefully they’ll be back.  Always a pleasure to lead.
