Ready-Mix Memorial Ruck

When: 04/11/2023

QIC: Popper

PAX (14): Angus, Animal, BallBoy, Birdie, Boomer, Flo, HIPPA, Maguire, Meatball, Mid-riff, PuffDaddy, Saint2O, Speedo

Preamble:

It was just over a year ago that our brother Ready-Mix went to be with the Lord. He is laid to rest about a mile and a half from the Meathouse, so the PAX took a memorial ruck to pay our respects this morning.

Warm-O-Rama:

Since Puff Daddy texted that he got a flat tire and would be a few minutes late, YHC gave the PAX a longer warmup than you’d typically see for a ruck to bide our time. Weed Picker, Windmill, High Knees, Butt Kickers, Hillbillies, Open the Gate, Close the Gate.

The Thang:

We rucked to Ready-Mix’s grave, shared stories and memories, and prayed. We rucked back to the starting point. The playlist for the journey comprised Ready-Mix favorites: REM, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam.

COT:

Upcoming Promise686 run, 12-hour CSAUP, Alpha convergence. Check Slack.

Prayers for Ready-Mix’s wife Mary Lynn, and his girls Perry, Louise and Meredith.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Stewart Evans was a high-impact man. It is fitting we should remember him often and emulate his intentionality in the various relationships and roles the Lord has called us to. It is also a comfort to know that Stewart is not in pain, nor sad, nor lonely. He is rejoicing with his Savior.

13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14)

In Stewart’s memory, let us always demonstrate love and kindness in prayer, word and deed to his beloved wife and daughters.

Stewart Evans. Resting in peace with his Savior. Ready-Mix. Respect.
