The Academy Q sheet is wide open, and the AO still has that new-AO smell to it. Today happened to line up with my 3rd F3 anniversary, and it was my honor to grab the Q.
YHC pulled down this BD idea from F3 Cherokee some time ago, but hadn’t been able to use it yet. The Academy provided the perfect setup to trot it out.
The whole thing definitely sucked, but the closing leg sequence was the worst part.
With some time left on the clock, Q called for a Hightower. Sequence of 9 reps of different flavors of burpees, with a run down the straightaway and back in between. We got through 3 of 5 sets: regular burpees, 8-ct Bodybuilders, and triple hand-release mercans. Time was running out, so we headed back to the flag for a jumbo set of flutter kicks to finish it off.

As mentioned earlier, it’s been 3 years in the gloom. Grateful for the bonds formed. You guys make my life richer.
I’ve found that if you really want to be consistent and grow, you have to trick your brain into making sure you go to workouts. The fartsack is comfortable, you’re sore from yesterday, it might rain- so many excuses to choose from. Prepare yourself ahead of time. Use the HC button, choose your clothes the night before, grab a Q so you know you have to go. Over time, it becomes part of what you do, no matter where you are.
It’s been the case through Covid, the birth of a child, and the loss of my father. Posting helps me orient myself for the rest of the day. Let’s get after it!
