Get your kicks on Route 66

AO: The Firehouse

When: 09/04/2018

QIC: Reuben

PAX (): Baker, Howser, Skynyrd, Fudd, Reuben

5 PAX hit the gloom for a post Labor Day beatdown with a little pain on the side. YHC decided to reach into his bag of tricks and rinse and repeat a prior workout which seemed to be a hit when I did it originally. Here’s how it went down.

Mosey up the main drive past Stonehenge (a little reverse run on the way) ending at the entrance to The Firehouse for warm-up:

  • SSH
  • Arm Propellers(RT & LT)
  • Windmill

The Thang

Route 66 routine-as everyone knows who has visited The Firehouse, there are more than enough light posts to be seen, and our AO is lit like the Las Vegas strip. I love taking advantage of light fixtures at 5:30 am, so I brought back a prior workout and mixed up some different exercises. With a roll of one single dye, we chose our fate. We focused on the outermost lights to complete our exercises around the circumference of the AO.

1) V-ups
2) Burpees
3) Derkins on curb
4) Lunge walks to next light post
5) Squat Thrusts
6) LBC’s

We started with 5 reps for the first few lights. YHC dealt exercises in cadence and OYO as we strolled, starting with by 5 reps and increasing by 5 throughout our adventure; ending with 15 reps for the last handful of light posts. We quickly became tired of V-ups and Derkins, but we’re better for it.

With 2 minutes left to spare as we reached the flag, we had time to for a little Mary:

Flutters x 10 IC
American Hammers x 10 IC (compliments of Howser)

COT/Prayers

5 PAX on hand. We saw an encore appearance from our brother Howser who was back home from Bulldog country!

We encouraged each other to reach out to other men thirsty for community.

Praise for Baker’s mother and improved health
