Burpee-free Zone

AO: Rubicon

When: 2024-02-27

QIC: Speedo

PAX (9): Avis, Caffey, FannyPack, Groundhog, Lefty, Lil Hurt, Ma Bell (Carpex), Special K

Preamble:

YHC may have suggested a burpee-free beatdown was in order for the men of the Rubicon. Technically, we did zero traditional burpees but we came awfully close.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey down Old Milton and snuck in one of the side entrances to the park for:
  • Weedpickers IC x10
  • Hillbillies IC x10
  • Goofballs IC x10
  • Hangovers OYO
  • WGS OYO
  • Michael Phelps OYO

The Thang:

String of pearls with multiple stops
  • At each outfield we stopped and did three Turk n' burps (completely different than a plain old burpee). We stopped four times for a total of 12
  • At one of the sidewalk circles we started a Merk n' burp which is a burpee but with an additional number of merkins. We started with 10 merkins then bear crawled 1/4 circle. We worked our way down the count and had a different MOT each time. We stopped at 7 but would pick it up at the next stop.
  • Back at the other sidewalk circle we finished the merk 'n burps from 6 down to 3 then repeated the 3 merk burp to avoid any semblance of doing a real burpee
  • To the FOD for some Lt. Get-ups - half the guys start at home plate while half start at 2nd base. Two lunges followed by a prisoner get-up. After two bases YHC called for a modification to broad jumps between the last two bases but lived to wish I had not called that audible.
  • Mosey to the concession stand for a Speedo staple - grab some wall for 5 donkey kicks IC then hold feet on the wall until YHC calls down. R&R with 10 then 15 and an increasing time on the wall each time.
  • Mosey to the pavilion near the flag for 20 shrugs followed by 20 dips. R&R with 15 each then back to 20 shrugs and 10 dips.
  • Over to the grass hill by the flag parking lot for some 7's. YHC called for a 6+6, 5+5, etc. format just in case we ran out of time. Squat jumps at the bottom and HRPCBs at the top. Oh, and each guy needs to crawl bear up the hill at least once.
Back to the flag in time for a rousing set of gas pumpers by a guy who drives an electric car.

COT:

Prayers for hillseeker guys. Prayers for Fanny Pack and his wife as they navigate parenting their middle child Praise for beautiful weather and strong bodies. Reminder about the Royal Flush event which is essentially just encouraging guys to post and Q at other AOs in the region.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Thanks for taking my lead this morning. I'm not sure the parenting advice I shared at the end was well-thought out but I intended for it to encourage you guys and remind all those who have kids that our privilege is to be parents as long as we are living. Every season brings its own challenges and fun. Like Fanny Pack did this morning, use the combined wisdom and experience and prayer power of the men of F3 to help get you through some of the tougher times and to celebrate the high points. --Speedo out
