Go fast?, or, go far?
AO: Badapple
When: 06/16/2023
QIC: Sprocket
PAX (11): Avis, Dosido, Goose, Rusty, Sell-out, Spider, Tank, The_OG Zima, Thud, FNG @Defib (B Neesmith)
Preamble:
QIC had one calendar day left on his 52nd trip around the sun, so, borrowed a wonderful idea from another “respectable” PAX and decided to “equitably” share the joy of aging well.
Warm-O-Rama:
Disclaimer given, SSH’s, sungods, Mtn climbers, karaoke IC, rep count 15
The Thang:
Here’s how 1 rep/year works when QIC is 53 (or, any age): The total number of each exercise will be 53 reps in honor of QIC, but, all PAX younger than QIC will stop at his age in reps (32, 42, etc.) and do burpees until QIC finishes his 53 reps. Any PAX with as many years or more than QIC can finish his reps at 53. Equitable, no?
With a classic rock PL in hand, QIC lead PAX down OG Zima’s Hill and stopped for monkey humpers, ran sidewalk up to SAE entrance for Mericans, continued the mosey to Etris road and circled up in parking lot of shopping center for air squats, gazebo for dips, Hardscrabble Rd for BBSU’s farther west on Hardscrabble for Stone Mtn’s to pull-up station for SSH’s, baseball diamond bleachers for step-ups (Alpha-count) and back to the flag for 2 minutes of Mary.
COT:
The war baby (@Avis) got his beloved burpees in, while every one else got theirs (depending on age), we lifted up those with physical ailments, welcomed our FNG, @Defib, and looked forward to gathering again to encourage each other, lean on each other and help make one another strong. Baked (not pumpkin) muffins and coffee enjoyed by all afterward with compliments to Goose’s M/Goose.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
The best thing about leading today’s workout was seeing all PAX at various times picking up the 6 without being reminded. That’s the magic of F3: no man left behind, but, no man left where you found him. It works in one’s everyday life too, btw. It’s not just for workouts. “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together.”
No better way to begin a day. Nothing else comes close. Looking forward to doing it all again (and more) on my next trip around the sun. With joy in my heart, Sprocket.
