Still 56

AO: Gladiator

When: 02/09/2023

QIC: Speedo

PAX (16): Cheneral, defcon2, DREAMER, Dugger, Fire Drill, Ironhead, Judy, Kegger, Macbeth, Mater, RaspberryPi, Spandex, Stroller, vertigo, Brownie

Preamble:

Countdown to yet another birthday so I had to get on the Q sheet for my home AO.  Fifteen men including two very capable Kotters were there at the start with one lollygagger rolling in at 5:16 but he eventually found us.  Four strong for the pre-run (I think).  A disclaimer was given in there somewhere…oh and we had music.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey around the parking lot and behind the rec center to the other parking lot for:

  • Weed pickers x10 IC
  • Hillbillies x10 IC
  • SSH x10 IC
  • Copperhead squats x10 IC
  • Hangovers OYO
  • Michael Phelps OYO

The Thang:

Mosey through the back door of the pitch.  YHC explained we would be making Strava art so the first round would require we stay together.  An exercise would be called and the rep count was always 57.  If you finish early do the exercise from the previous stop for the six so we knew when everyone was done. We kinda sorta spelled out 57 with these exercises:

  1. Squats
  2. Merkins
  3. Monkey humpers
  4. Shoulder taps (alpha count)
  5. LBCs
  6. Star jumps
  7. Carolina dry docks
  8. Steps ups on the wall
  9. Freddie Mercuries (alpha count)
  10. Dips on the wall
  11. American Hammers (alpha count)

Time didn’t allow a repeat with full reps so we moseyed back to the start and pax were instructed to do 10 reps of each exercise, following the same lines as round one so the Strava art would be magnificent.

We finished the abbreviated second round with about a minute left.  YHC instructed the pax that we were going to run to the flag (staying on the road) and that the goal was to beat me there…so basically a sprint back to the flag.

No time for mary.

COT:

Prayers for Veritgo’s BIL and his BIL’s father for safe and successful kidney donation/transplant in a couple of weeks

Prayers for Dreamer’s boss on the birth of their 6th child.

Prayers for Dreamer’s relative who is elderly and struggling to recover from an illness.

Prayers for Mater’s MIL as she travels back home next Monday.

First aid class on Friday 2/10 – I’ve heard it is at capacity but check Slack to be sure.

2nd F lunch on Friday 2/10 – check Slack…all I know is it’s near a liquor store.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

I wrapped up the COT by giving thanks to you guys.  I am able to do what I do at F3 because God gives me that ability first and foremost.  But you guys give me the motivation, encouragement and drive to get out there early in the morning and do what we do.  I could not do this without you guys and I love you.  Great work by all this morning.
