Preamble:
This was my last day as Site Q, so I decided to get nostalgic. It’s been a lucky 13 months since we’ve made the magical mystery tour. Like raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens were for Fraulein Maria, the stations today consisted of my favorite things: running, upper body and abs.
Just kidding. I hate running. Why didn’t we just do muscle beach again?
The BD below set what I think is a high-water mark for distance at ~2.7miles. I can’t remember doing anything longer than that at the Gladiator. And if I’m wrong, take it up with the new Site Q.
Warm-O-Rama:
I can’t really remember what we did for warm up because I was mostly worried about whether we’d lost Macbeth after ditching him before the prerun. That’s our bad, man, but I promise all you missed was a massive hill.
Either way…that was station 1.
And Macbeth was found.
The Thang:
- Station 2: Coupon K’noll 5 min
- 20 Curls
- Run halfway up the hill
- 20 Skull Crusher
- Run halfway up the hill
- Repeat if time
- Station 3: Holcomb’s Hideaway ~1 min
- :30 on/:10 off. Burpees & American hammers
- Station 4: Library Loop 5 min
- Partner up. One partner runs while the other exercises. Switch, then go through the next exercise.
- Mercans
- Monkey Humpers
- Gas Pumpers
- Mercans
- Partner up. One partner runs while the other exercises. Switch, then go through the next exercise.
- Station 5: Murph’s Muscle Beach Morning Call 5 min
- x2
- Station 6: S*** Sprints 5 min
- I think we got to 8. I wanted to do 10 in honor of (spoiler alert) Mav hitting Mach 10 at the beginning of his latest documentary. But we ran out of time.
COT:
- Zohan’s safe travels
- Blood Drive
- Peachtree Road Race coming up (not announced, but check Slack if you’re running and want friends)
- Aug 6 Convergence
- Site Q handover. See below.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
It’s been a full year, and I’m really excited for the guy taking over as Site Q at the Gladiator. But, I write funny better than I do sappy. So, below is a summary of my feelings. Written in limerick form.
