Tour de Q: Stage 1 aka Is the QIC Prepared?
AO: Meathouse
When: 06/07/2022
QIC: Sugar (Hooch - Gwinnett)
PAX (3): Boomer, McCracken, Sugar (Hooch - Gwinnett)
Preamble:
This was the first time in quite a while that YIC had taken the Q. As such, I was a touch distracted as I prepared to leave the house. Upon showing up at the site and unloading, I noticed that in my efforts to remember the music and the second coupon (more on that later), I had neglected to grab my weight vest. Thankfully, i was able to get my M to bring it with her on her way out the door to go on her morning run. Later, I also discovered that I had neglected to grab my water. Oops. Still, 5:30 arrived and this guy and two other PAX began.
Warm-O-Rama:
As i preferred to not have weight vests bouncing around during our warm up, I called for slow copperhead squats and Batman (with seal claps, overhead claps, forward arm circles, and reverse arm circles). We then grabbed our coupons and wandered off to one side of the green.
The Thang:
YIC announced the round robin plan where PAX 1 uses the extra coupon and his own to farmer’s carry across the middle sidewalk and back while PAX 2 & 3 AMRAP the movement. Upon PAX 1’s return, PAX 2 begins the farmer’s carry, then PAX 3 upon the his return. For the second movement, travelling PAX switch to Zamperini. Back to farmer’s carry for the third movement and so on, continuing to alternate. The movements were Merkins, Squats, Overhead Presses, Lunges, Curls, Thrusters, BBS, and Burpees.
Upon completion of the movements, PAX left coupons and moved to the monuments. Here elevens were announced with opposite sides of the wall for dips and alpha count step ups. Time was called just as PAX were finishing elevens.
COT:
Prayers for travelling mercies and for families adjusting to summer normal.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
The two men I had the privilege to lead this morning are just some of the HIMs that have lead over the course of the past school year when I was unable to step up to bear the load of Q’ing. I hope I was able to push us as they deserved.
