As YHC returned from the pre-beatdown run this morning, he saw a giant crowd of 20 or so PAX looking for a Q. The PAX might have been a bit nervous when the Q showed up wearing a reflective vest and headlamp, but little did they know that he had just completed all of his leg work for the day. YHC shed the vest and headlamp, issued the disclaimer, and we moseyed to the east parking lot for a quick warm-up:
- SSH x 15
- Weedpicker x 10
- Toy Soldier x 12
Mosey back to the field for…
The Thang:
Escalating Four Corners routine, using the four main corners of the field. Extra distance means extra fun with bear crawls on the long sides and crab walk on the short sides. Add an exercise each time (start with 10 burpees at corner 1), working up to:
- 10 Burpees
- 20 Gas Pumpers
- 30 American Hammers
- 40 Mercans
Plenty of mumblechatter about the bear crawls (YHC thought the crab walk was harder). After air chair for the six and then a quick ten count, YHC offered the PAX good news and bad news. Good news- no more bear crawls and crab walks. Bad news- rinse and repeat, but in reverse (end with just the burpees). DC2 wanted to reverse the exercise order as well, which seemed to catch on with the PAX. End round 2 with air chair and then a few minutes of Mary led by Tebow, Scar, and Mufasa.
Time was running out, but YHC knew that a very special guest was returning to the Gladiator- Jack Webb! Like any good round of Jack Webbs, it started out great, then YHC had second thoughts around round 6. By round 8, Jack was encroaching on our six minutes of Mary, but YHC knew you can’t call Jack Webbs and not finish. We knocked them out and headed back to the flag.
Quick two minutes of Mary highlighted by Spandex leading planks…went great with the theme of the day.
CoT:
Prayers for Brownie, who is donating his kidney tomorrow. Prayers for Jason, the recipient and a neighbor and friend of many PAX.
Prayers for Puddle Jumper’s close friend who passed in a tragic accident last week.
Great to see Trill from F3 Cherokee and Tigger from the Hooch. Love having so many PAX at the Gladiator.
Final thought- “Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you find him.” This BD helped show me how far I’ve come with the help of many. Thanks to all who push me to be better- if you’re reading this, that’s you.
