Always gotta love a good Rooney BD, especially those that he forgets to Q as it typically means a standard-issue Murph by YHC (despite a robust round of protesting from the PAX). As 5:30 grew near and nary a sign of our absent Q, PAX could see what was coming over the horizon (“that’s no moon…”) and promptly beckoned for a curiously eager Thumper to lead the BD. Fortunately, F3 is not a democracy and YHC was eager to start 2019 with a bang. No relinquishing the Q today.
Warm-Up:
Extended mosey up the main drag past the football fields and settle in to a seldom-used parking lot for a round of disclaimers and the following:
- SSH
- Weedpickers
- Toy Soldiers
Continued mosey along perimeter trail until we reached the playground as YHC directed all PAX to fetch a coupon (this would not be your typical Murph).
The Thang:
Coming off a Merkin Millennium for New Years, some PAX were pleading for some Murph modifications, and YHC was more than happy to oblige. Today’s flavor would include 10 rounds of the following:
- 10 Pull-ups
- 15 Derkins
- 20 Overhead Press (with coupon)
- 30 Squats
While this version would be somewhat of a relief for the Pectorals , it was clear that the Deltoids would carry the brunt of the load for the today. Great work by all PAX, and it was clear that the coupons were taking there toll by rounds 7 and beyond.
Audible to direct early finishers to continue circuits until Q made the call. With 10 minutes to go on the clock, YHC directed all PAX to return coupons and begin a 1 mile mosey back to the flag with a low-mosey option for those that were so inclined. Back to the flag with less than a minute to go for a quick round of Mary led by Miller Time.
