The Wreck boys have a habit of filling the Q sheet months in advance, which means that YHC signs up for Q’s without truly knowing his schedule 6 months out. With travel scheduled for the following week and Virginia Slim looking to keep his fart-sack record alive, YHC knew a swap would be money in the bag.
Warm-Up:
Slow mosey around the parking lot to gather the six, then along the trail past the tennis courts and up to the parking lot by the swimming pool for the following:
- Windmill’s
- Hillbilly’s
- Mountain Climbers
While circling up, YHC noticed a beautiful wall with with 4-5 courses of Windsor stone. Before getting on with the main course, time for some ascending Merkins, starting with toes on the first level of stone for 10 reps. Continue moving toes up a level for reps of 10 until reaching the summit.
Gather PAX and mosey past gymnastics center to Malbec Mtn where the real work would begin.
The Thang:
Starting at the bottom of the hill, begin with 5 Burpees, run to the top and perform 20 Sumo squats, run up to the gymnastics parking lot for 5 more Burpees, then back to the top the Malbec Mtn for 20 Merkins. Once PAX was gathered, head back to the bottom of the hill for Round 2 with a twist: top 10 finishers would Bernie Sanders the route. Rinse/repeat for 5 rounds with rotating Bernie Sanders depending upon where PAX finished. This kept the PAX together nicely.
Now, It takes a lot to push Bear’s buttons, and while observing some PAX’s (who shall remain nameless) Sumo form, he had just about enough. With a Rockne-esque rally from our resident cotillion expert to exhibit proper form, PAX were invigorated to finish the remaining rounds in good stead before moving on.
With 5 rounds in the bag and a steady rain coming down, lead PAX toward the playground for some isolation work. Fetch a coupon and take refuge under the shelter for the following, AMRAP style:
- 20 Decline Merkins (toes on picnic bench)
- 20 Nose-breakers (lying on picnic bench with coupon)
- 20 Chest press (with coupon)
- Rinse/repeat
Chest/tricep burnout was the name of the game with this one. Q called an audible after Round 3 to reduce reps to 10 to keep things moving. With 5 minutes left on the clock, direct PAX to return coupons and head back to the flag for some Mary. Either the PAX were gassed or Grease Monkey skipped a few rounds as he was first back to the flag. A few minutes left for Mary:
- American Hammer
- Dying Cockroach
- Side-Straddle Hop
COT:
- Sign up for the Roswell Perfect 10 5k benefiting Roswell Gymnastics (link) coming up on November 10.
AFLAC out.
