I hope I never have to spend time in prison, if I did YHC would know how to keep himself fit as a fiddle that’s for sure. Today’s beatdown was designed around exercises that could be done in confined spaces. Here is how it all went down. Let’s mosey!
Mosey around the parking lot for warm-up:
- SSH
- Cotton picker
- Sun gods
- Carolina dry-docks
- Ass kickers
The Thang
Quick stroll to the playground for recess! With school now back in session, this seemed appropriate.
11’s– We rotated between pull-ups and inverted rows. We had a lot of real-estate to work with a variety of bars and swings to fill our cups.
With our arms spent we ventured over to the soccer field for the Juarez Valley Method routine. YHC was excited about attempting this one. We chose between 4 excerises- (Merkins, Crunchy frogs, Skaters, and Squats). Unfortunately with the number of reps, we only got through merkins and frogs. The PAX partnered up. Group 1 does merkins while Group 2 does Frogs at mid field. The group that finishes first would run to the sideline, or midfield, to relieve their partner and switch up. A lot of mumble chatter here. YHC was greatful for the PAX’s patience. Here’s the routine:
20 sets w/ reps as follows:
1) 20 reps
2) 1 rep
3)19
4) 2
5)18
6) 3
The basic gist is that on the odd number sets your are decreasing, while the even number sets you are increasing. Reps for each excercise totaled 210. Plenty of pain to go around so it was beneficial; and a perfect routine if you ever find yourself behind bars and in need of a workout to pass the time.
Speaking of time, it was winding down, so we headed over to the pavilion for 2 sets of box jumps and step-ups. (20 reps each OYO).
Mary included 15 reps of Freddy Mercuries all in IC compliments of Dash. (This is Dash’s favorite of course).
