QIC: Chapter 11

PAX (13): Bottom Bunk, Callahan, Cam's, DeLorean, Fresh Prince, Ha-ha, Longshanks, muTTon, Pepper, Roaster, TMI, TO

Preamble:

It had been a while since my last Q in January, so I finally decided to give in to Pepper’s requests and step up to lead again. This time, I invited all of the other PAX alongside me in my “parenting” journey.

Warm-O-Rama:

Head out over to the parking lot for some quick SSH, Weedpickers, and Hillbillys to warm up.

Also introduce my “kids” – my two girls (ages 2 and 5 months) represented as 2 bright pink 2 lb dumbbells, and my son (4), which was just a ~15lb rock I picked up on the side of the road.

One of the PAX would be required to carry either the rock, or both dumbbells at all times.

But since the PAX are a bunch of creepy old men, they weren’t allowed to carry the girls close to their bodies, but rather had to have their arms extended out or up while carrying them.

The Thang:

Moseyed over to “The arena” (I don’t know what it is called… but that seems like a cool name for it) for some 11s.

Split up the PAX, and start at different ends. Exercises were step ups on the wall, and Derkins on the benches at the other end.

As the PAX finished, we led some Mary while waiting for the 6 while Fresh Prince tried to lead us in a round of “dead bugs”, which was just his name for Dying Cockroaches.

After the 6 joined, we moseyed out to the road and partnered up for a round of catch me if you can. We would move all the way down the road to the North Park sign off Bethany. One partner would choose either Bear Crawls or Lunges, while the other would complete 10 burpees and then catch up. This tough series generated much mumble chatter, but the PAX pushed through.

Once we all completed, Indian Run (mosey) back to the flag.

COT:

Not to much to share this morning, but prayers for success, safe travels, and some good comraderies for all heading up to the Blue Ridge Relay this weekend.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Leading a Q is always far more intimidating and daunting than it really is. But it’s always easier than you think and the PAX are always encouraging. It’s a great regular rhythm to get into.

After listening to Snowman’s story recently on the HIM podcast, I was inspired to really take advantage of the COT time. It is such a unique opportunity to have a community and trust of men like this. So let’s take advantage of it.
