Tour de Q: Stage 2 – “Fantastic in a Masochistic Kind of Way”
AO: The Hooch
When: 06/08/2022
QIC: Sugar (Hooch - Gwinnett)
PAX (7): BallBoy, Birdie, Boomer, Dinghy, Popper, Splinter, Sugar (Hooch - Gwinnett)
Preamble:
Tuesday night the call went out. Bring coupons, there might be rain. There was a promise of a rain plan. There were some responses. A few hard commits, some showed, some didn’t. A soft commit that became a PAX in attendance, and a couple PAX that don’t respond to Slack. All were prepared with cinders in trunk, however, and the rain had moved past. 5:30 arrived and we began our mosey just as the seventh PAX came charging through the parking lot, taking turns on two wheels.
Warm-O-Rama:
After a mosey around the north forty acres (plus or minus) of the parking lot, PAX circled up for a warm up consisting of SSHs, Weedpickers (some AOs call these strawberry pickers), Moroccan night clubs (not done in Morocco), and Imperial Walkers, all to the tune of 14 reps.
The Thang:
PAX grabbed their coupons and we assembled near the portico in search of light in case we needed to read the weinke. Instructions given for a multiple sets of a series of movements, with each set followed by 5 burpees and then a run down the sidewalk to the movie theatre and back. The exercises in each set were curls, goblet squats, overhead presses, lunges (with coupon, single count), and merkins. 5 rounds with 25-20-15-10-5 reps per exercise per set. All PAX fnished, many picked up the Q, who was also the 6.
After a ten count, PAX moved into the portico and split into pairs plus one group of three. PAX-A would go BTTW while PAX-B executed 5 lunges (single count), then switch. Proceed as such until each PAX completed three rounds.
From there, PAX slow moseyed to the half wall outside the restaurant space that was a revolving door for tenants. Here 11’s were performed: Dips and burpees. As PAX were finishing or near finishing, time was called. PAX returned to reclaim coupons and gather near the [borrowed] flag.
COT:
Prayers expressed for Birdie’s son’s interviewing process, Dinghy’s employment, industry concerns and family situations for Popper’s team, and family goings on for Sugar.
Naked-Man Moleskin:
I appreciate the HIMs that chose to beat the fartsack and begin their day with me in the gloom. It is far better to sweat alongside others than alone. I appreciate you men that have helped push me in my fitness and health.
