Preamble:
4-18-15 was the start of F3 Alpha at the Rubicon and though week 1 was at Newtown Park (currently the Boneyard), they were shooed off and soon made Wills Park the 1st AO in the north Atlanta suburbs. Many thanks to those who showed up year after year to keep this movement healthy and growing.
On Thursday 4/20, YHC is passing the flag to [INSERT NEW SITE Q NAME HERE]. So today was my last Q as the site Q, and I wanted to make it fun.
Scar headed up the pre-run and got a good Tuesday showing of 6.
Warm-O-Rama:
Right at 5:30, the Academy crew ran over and we kicked off the morning with 8 commemorative burpees as a group. They split and the 18 Rubiconners commenced a brief warm up lap around the parking lot with high knees & butt kickers. Off to the FOD.
The Thang:
Four Games on tap today:
Red Light / Green Light:
- Round 1: Crab Walk. Either this was too easy or I just suck at RL/GL. I bailed on this round halfway through.
- Round 2: Duck Walk. Now I remember how to play. Several PAX made it through.
- Round 3: Frankenstein. PAX were dropping like flies; PitStop made it first and won the game.
Duck-Duck-Goose:
- Every starts in a low plank Circle. PitStop started us off as ‘it’.
- Once he picked a goose, he drops to Bear Crawl & the Goose Bear Crawl chases him around the circle.
- 10 bonus Mercans for all PAX between rounds.
- Probably played this wrong; each round the goose just automatically became ‘it’. Trebek was it at the end.
Sharks & Minnows:
- Trebek in the center of the FOD was the first Shark.
- Minnow boundaries are either end of the FOD at the fence.
- Sharks start each round with 5 burpees while Minnows SSH.
- We played like 75 rounds… approximately…
Catch Me If You Can:
- Partner up, Line up on 1st base line.
- 1st partner lunge walks to 2nd base (some got there for maybe the first time)
- 2nd partner does a round of Mucho Chesto, 5 x 5 positions, then sprints to their partner.
Finally, we mosey’ed to the brick building nearby for a BTTW last man standing. Special K crushed us all.
COT:
Thanks to Lumbergh for getting out the word on the 8-yr mark. 18 on Tuesday at the Rubicon is a great showing.
Reminder about HALPHA day this Friday at the Rubicon. Come out and push yourself!
Naked-Man Moleskin:
Thursday I’m passing the flag. It’s been a great year and I’m grateful to Lefty for handing it to me last April. This place rocks & I’m extremely grateful for the accountability and the relationships. Great work men.
