Preamble:

10 PAX somehow entrusted YHC with the keys to The Bridge AO for a VQ BD. We left our fate in His hands, casting lots (rolling the dice) for the prescribed self-flagellation.  Accompaniment provided by a selection of classic rock motivation, heavily weighted toward the best band from our neighbor to the north, “Canadia’s” own Rush…who taught us to ROLL THE BONES, exercise our FREE WILL, enter this pain cave (errrr, parking deck), and stay away from Craps.

Warm-O-Rama:

SSH, Windmill, Weed Picker, Forward Arm Circles, Reverse Arm Circles, Imperial Walkers, Copperhead Squats

The Thang:

PAX transitioned to the Bridge parking deck, which offered itself up as our mountain for the day.  Each turn of the deck was a stop for 2 exercises chosen by the dice, with added reps at each turn.  Rep counts were 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 at the top.  Bernie Sanders on the flats, run on the inclines.

  1. @McCracken was first to press his luck with a roll of 1 (Jump Squats) and 2 (Hand Release Merkins)
  2. @Boomer followed with a second round total roll of 7 (CRAPS), renamed CRABS for: C = Carolina Drydocks (5), R= Reverse Crunches (10), A = Angle Grinders (5), B = Burpees (5), S = Squats (10); repeat all at each turn
  3. @Birdie anchored the workout with a roll of 4 (Shoulder Taps (Alpha count)) and 6 (Plank Jacks)
  4. Time to work in two more turns of CRABS

Ended back at flag with 1 min of Air Chair to spare.

Ephesians 6:10-12 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Naked-Man Moleskin:

We may not feel like we’re in the fight and at times we can feel useless, like “what am I doing here?” Anything calling us to surrender or indifference is the spiritual forces of evil trying to get us to throw in the towel, or just become an NPC, an easy target of the enemy, lukewarm to God and useless to those who depend on us.

But we are not called to be useless, we are called to battle.  It’s real and it’s an every day fight.  We beat our bodies to discipline it for the battle God is waging in the spiritual realms.  You want purpose?  Jump in the fray with JC.  Armor up! Man up! Warrior up!
