MINI Cooper

AO: The Hooch

When: 02/01/2023

QIC: Lotus

PAX (17): Angus, BallBoy, Birdie, Dinghy, Feathers, Humperdinck, Lotus, Maguire, Mater, McCracken, Meatball, Plumb Bob, PuffDaddy, Saint2O, Scrooge, Splinter, Sunshine

Preamble:

The initial plan this morning was for a Cooper, but due to some grumblechatter, we modified to a MINI cooper.

Props to @Saint20 and @Meatball for starting their morning with a pre-run.

Warm-O-Rama:

Moseyed to the track.

En route we included some:

  • SSHs
  • inch worms
  • traveling air squats
  • walking toy soldiers

The Thang:

Part 1: The Cooper

This mornings beatdown hails straight form the Exicon:

https://f3nation.com/exicon/entry/3492/?gvid=398721

1 lap around track. 10 burpees, 10 Squats, then 10 Merkins. Lap around track. Then 9,9, 9 of same. Count down to 1. Gets pretty brutal when you get to around 5.

Since we were working with a mini track, not a full track, we dubbed this workout the “MINI Cooper.”

After our 7th round (4,4,4), we had to call it quits in order to leave time for our relay race.

Part 2: 4×400 relay

PAX split into 5 teams of 4 (or 3) and we did a classic 4x400M relay with a couple variations:

  • Each team’s baton was a paint stick from ACE hardware. #FreeOfCharge
  • Whoever was in first place had to run in the outermost lane
    • The runner in 2nd place was in the next lane in, and so forth.
  • If your team only had 3 runners, one lucky PAX got the chance to run twice.
  • Since it’s not a full track, I suppose this wasn’t technically a 4x400M, but close enough…

Moseyed back to flag for a ROM

  • Flutter kicks
  • Pickle pounders
  • Pretzel crunches
  • Box cutters

COT:

Announcements

  • You can still sign up for the free AED/CPR/Heimlich training coming up February 10th:
  • Sounds like there’ll be a SiteQ changing-of-the-guard for both the Hooch, Meathouse, and maybe a couple other AO’s. Stay tuned for more details.

Prayer requests

  • @PuffDaddy had the opportunity to go to CO with @Ready-Mix (F3)’s family. Sounds like it was a great trip. Continue to keep @Ready-Mix (F3)’s family lifted up in prayer as they navigate life with him no longer here.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

It’s a heck of a lot easier being DR in 50 degree temps than it is back home where it was 0 this morning and -18 on Friday. Thanks for the invite 🙂
