AO: Boneyard

When: 04/01/2022

QIC: Speedo

PAX (4): FannyPack, Feathers, Mater, Speedo

Preamble:

Heading into Spring Break, YHC wanted to give max opportunities for the PAX to be swole as they load strollers and car seats into their minivans and head to wherever they are going.  I was inspired by I’m not sure what to do a variety of counting activities so as 5:30 arrived, a disclaimer was given and we were off.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey up the parking lot toward the soccer fields, hang a left and down to the parking lot in front of the playground for:

  • Weed pickers x10 – nice a slow to stretch out the back
  • Hillbillies x10 – stretch out the hips
  • SSH x10 – stretch out the body
  • Covids/Phelps OYO – stretch out the shoulders

The Thang:

Mosey down the sidewalk behind the amphitheater to the stairs leading down to the pond.  Simple 11’s – star jumps at the top, derkins by the pond at the bottom.  YHC brought a headlamp to try to prevent falling down the stairs but only managed to temporarily blind Feathers.  Merkin count after this one was 55.

A walking 10-count then mosey to the bottom of the hill near the playground.  This time we did 21’s – 19 squats at the bottom then 2 merkins of PAX choice at the bench at the top of the hill (THAT bench, not that bench).  Rinse and repeat decreasing by 2 squats at the bottom and adding two merkins at the top.  Total merkin count after this one was 155.

Another walking 10-count then mosey to the grass field near the veteran’s memorial park.  This time we did 7’s – burpees at the top and big bois at the bottom.  Total merkin count after this one was 180.

Back toward the flag with an ill-advised sprint through the t-ball fields which are not very smooth.  Back to the flag for some mary:

  • Gas pumpers by Speedo
  • LBCs by Mater
  • Dying cockroaches by Fanny Pack
  • Mind Control Merkins by Feathers (I should have known better than to let him go last)
  • Mr. Wilson (brought north from Atlanta by Morphine) for the last 20 seconds

We finished with 187 merkins for the morning plus a lot of other stuff (not including the stuff we didn’t have time to complete).  Strong effort by all.

COT:

Prayers lifted up for Feathers and family as they travel to England and then to Ireland to spread his mother’s ashes in her homeland.  Prayers for Mater as he joins several million others in Orlando for Spring Break.  Prayers for Feather’s MIL whose dog is close to passing.  Prayers for YHC’s dad who experienced some TIA strokes earlier this week.  Praise that we were all able to get up and work hard this morning.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the first date I had with my wife.  I don’t have a great memory but I do remember that day as clearly as anything.  It’s been a wild ride since then filled with highs, lows, and everything in between.  I encourage all of you who are married to work at it, stay faithful and show AND tell her you love her.  Your children will see this and will hopefully model it in their lives and you will create a generational pattern that will hopefully never be broken.

It’s always an honor to lead HIMs and I count it a privilege to have you guys by my side.
