“You said push-ups were easy, and you didn’t do those either”

AO: Firehouse

When: 03/03/2022

QIC: Ace Ventura

PAX (9): Ace Ventura, CATFISH, Glitter, Janeway, LifeLock VPN, Lightweight, Suarez, Zuckerburg, Weasley

Preamble:

YHC and Janeway showed up for pre-run.  Hitting a personal best, both PAX conducted a 2.5 mile run without having to stop to catch our breaths.

PAX showed up and light fellowship happened until 5:30AM, time to shove off.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey to the normal warm-up spot.  YHC was particulary perturbed that LifeLock showed up late and still somehow beat him to the warm-up spot.

15 Side Straddle hops

10 Toy Soldiers

10 Weed pickers

10 Torso twists

Sun-gods

The Thang:

PAX moseyed to the soccer field for some punishment.  YHC decided that since baseball games are being delayed due to the lockout (UGH!), it’s time to do some baseball of our own.  PAX grouped up and went to separate “bases”.  PAX at home plate did 5 burpees, then bear-crawled to first.  The PAX at first then crawled to second, and so forth until everyone returned back to their original base.  Two rounds of this were conducted.

First round:

First base – Merkins

Second – Squats

Third – LBCs

Second round:

First – Carolina Dry Docks

Second – Alternating lunges

Third – WW2 sit ups

For the final part of the beatdown, a unique form of Mary was conducted. PAX lined up at the goal line.   A PAX would call out an exercise and number (I.E. 5 burpees, 20 monkey humpers, etc.).  Once the PAX completed the exercise, a HARD AS POSSIBLE spring to mid-field was conducted, followed by a recovery walk to the other goal line.  Rinse and repeat.

YHC has the worst memory possible, and does not specifically recall the exercises selected by the PAX.

Oh wait…. there’s STILL time left over?!?!?!  I guess it was time for an Indian run.

COT:

PAX gathered to celebrate another great day of HIM acceleration.

Glitter provided the MOC:

Remember when you prayed for something, and you finally have it? Be thankful and content, because it could all disappear in the blink of an eye.

Prayer requests:

Sirmixalot’s family as they struggle with the loss of a family member unexpectedly.

Swiper’s family with several illnesses.

Glitter’s family recovering from sickness.

Catfish’s cousin who is struggling with some personal behaviors.

And last but certainly not least, the people suffering in Ukraine.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Most of the PAX in attendance stayed for coffee and fellowship.  The primary topic of discussion was how to increase strength training through different weightlifting methods.

Today was another great day in the Gloom.  It is always an honor to lead this group of men, and today was no exception.
