Preamble:

Well, I have been trying Academy for a few weeks and got tasked with my Academy VQ by Stroller. I could not let him down, and decided to pay homage to my first time at Academy which was an infamous Board of Pain by the one and only Devito. With his level of pain in mind, I took the Stadium of Pain routine I created back in December and ramped it up to high intensity.

Warm-O-Rama:

This is Academy, we don’t have no Warm-o-Rama!

The Thang:

We took off running and I began explaining the full BD as we were mid run. We ran into some Rubicon Pre-Runners, and MT called it a running convention. I told the few Nirvana guys that they were in for a treat as I ramped up the BD they did back in December (some sad grunts were heard, and I may have heard a comment that someone was considering peeling off with the Rubicon guys.. haha). After completing a little under a mile, it was time for the main event – The Stadium of Pain Academy Style.

8 total rounds were on the books, with each round beginning with two trips up and down the stadium stairs and ending with a lap around the track (exercises in between these). I told the men that this was a you verses you workout, and form was key. The rounds are provided below:

Round 1

  • 2 Stadiums Standard
  • 25 Squats
  • 15 Step Up (Alpha)
  • 25 Dips
  • 25 V Ups

  • 2 Stadiums 1 leg hop (right leg first then left)
  • 25 Overhead Presses
  • 25 Hand Release Mercans
  • 15 Burpees
  • 25 LBSs (90 degrees – Stu style)

  • 25 Bent over rows

DONE! Nearly 4 miles on my watch with all those exercises in between! Good work by all men!

Such a pleasure leading this group of men. This morning was tough for me, mentally and physically, but having a strong group of men to keep me moving makes all the difference. I started F3 in May of 2021, and I can honestly say that the last 8 or so months have been some life changing months for me mentally and physically. I’ve pushed myself to levels I would have never met without this group and I’m super grateful for each of you. Until the next time, Caffey out.
