Burpfest

Preamble:

Shiner 3 year anniversary! Was hooked on opioids and benzos for 7 years.  3 years ago checked myself into detox and haven’t looked back.  Power of God the father almighty has kept me going every day!  They told me in counseling that the number one reason folks don’t get sober is fear.  Today is about addressing our fears and helping others do the same.

Warm-O-Rama:

Mosey to field.

asked pax to take slow mosey around the field and think and pray about family and friends that struggle with addiction and think about the fear they are facing

The Thang:

Burpees. in a circle.  every  8 seconds.  sped it up to every 7 seconds towards end to reach 300.  100 burpees for every year I have been sober.

Played some music to keep em goin

Told the pax that was a little bit like goin thru withdrawals because you don’t know when it is goin to end and you just have to keep goin!

COT:

Lots of announcements.  Don’t remember many of them cuz I was still recovering.  Prayed for Wicka health, Speedo work blessing, Stroller’s family, and all those that struggle with addiction and the courage to face your fear and overcome it.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

f3 been a real blessing for me over the last year or so.  Only wish I would have joined sooner.  Absolutely great fellowship and the fitness part is just a perk.   Today is pretty emotional for me for many reasons.  3 years ago today I stopped the lies, addressed the fear, gave up on a substance and gave in to Christ and have been trying my best to follow Jesus every day.

Romans 5:3 Take Glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering leads to Perseverance, Perseverance to Character, Character to Hope!!
