It’s a Thanksgiving Mystery

Preamble:

I saw Callahan at Upward Basketball last week and realized I had not been out to Norseman in a while. Checking the Q sheet I saw that Tuesday was open. So why just show up when I can Q. And why tell them I am coming when I can build a mystery. So the Mystery Q signed up and was able to generate some chatter, even hooking Mufasa to come see what it was all about.

I arrived early and hid my car. I tucked a speaker away with the intention of having entrance music. (It was Who are You, by the Who) but hiding by the bathrooms was too far for my bluetooth so I arose and walked across the lot once all the pax had gathered. A rather anti climatic reveal but I gave at least one a good scare.

Warm-O-Rama:

We jogged to the big lot and started with SSH, WP and IW.

The Thang:

We hit the field after hearing there was not a good accessible pile of rocks. (Norseman only deals with cinders). The Pax set off for escalating corners.

10 Merkins at first corner
10 Merkins + 20 LBCs at second
10, 20 + 30 Squats at third
10, 20, 30, + 40 Mountain Climbers (Thanks for suggestion as Q froze on another exercise)

We then reversed counting down around the field. Norseman are at a speed that I can not match.

We hit the parking lot for some light and some trivia. Teams of 4. For Thanksgiving week I ask a question with an answer of 1-100. However far off the team is the PAX must do that number of the called exercise.

1st recorded thanksgiving was in 16__ (1621)–This earned almost 40 burpees for one team

Native Americans at first Tgiving – 90
Pilgrims at first Tgiving – 53
Declared a federal holiday in 1863
Countries/Entities with some type of Thanksgiving – 8
Black Friday shopping spend in 2017 – 58 (billion) – So many T bombs when you underestimate peoples ability to shop…..
% of people that have pumpkin pie on Tgiving – 57

We saw some back and forth on answers with only a few close guesses. Exercises included Freddy Mercury, Merkins, Squat Jumps, and more burpees.
