The (Gladiator) Dozen

Preamble:

A baker’s dozen, the 13 faithful who posted for the first Gladiator beat down of the second half of 2019, were in for a treat. It is also the week of our Nation’s birthday, so some form of 1776 is appropriate. Weather conditions of 73 degrees with 91 % humidity in the gloom of pre-dawn is like no other experience that’s hard to come by in this day and age. It’s quiet and we’re ready to Rejoice in the day that the Lord has made and spend the best part of the day getting stronger.

The Thang:

Down to the Pitch for some 1776. Inspired by the Overlord Ruck workout, this evolution would be modified to work with the year our Nation gained independence.

Partnered up:

From the goal line to half way line, partner carry.

17 Merkins at half way line

Bear crawl to the far goal line.

38 American Hammers

Flap jack back, switch partner carry.

That was Round 1.

Round 2 was Wheel Barrows, with Squats and Big Boys at each goal line.

Circle up in the center.

Tighten up the circle for a Ring of Fire with PAX planking while Bear crawling around the outside.

COT:

Thursday Gladiator BD at 0615. Cherokee Ruck at 0600 and BD at 0700. Numerous other AOs have BDs too.

Number of PAX running the Peachtree Road Race – good luck to all. Check slack for time to meet at Marta.

Ps 118:24 “This is the day which the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Each of the PAX articulated something to be Thankful for. We need to remember to give thanks in all circumstances, we rejoice in all things.

YHC was negligent in not taking prayer requests and will do better next time.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

The absence of the 2 Mets fans who bet against the Braves while they were in the ATL last month were noticed – they still have a bet to settle and they know who they are. Maybe they’ll pay up sometime!

All PAX pushed hard today – good work men! Mumble chatter all the time from various PAX died down a bit, but was revived during the recovery run.

Waiting for some of the PAX who haven’t Q’d yet or are overdue – it’s an honor and fun to lead!
