YHC has been feeling guilty since his last Q for shorting the PAX on a full Murph, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity for a mulligan. Besides, the PAX (or was it Chelsea?) agreed that these should be on a monthly rotation, so with that reinforcement, plans for a foggy Monday were made.
Warm-Up
YHC noticed that Grease Monkey still had a truck-load of coupons from the Strongest SnowPAX beatdown, which provided the perfect opportunity for a little misdirection at the start. After pointing out said coupons to the PAX and hearing a nice round of midwife noises, YHC declared “NOT TODAY” and led a 3/4 mile mosey to the back parking lot for a round of the following:
- 15 Imperial Walkers
- 15 Windmills
- 15 Mountain Climbers
The Thang
Mosey again for quick 1/4 mile and stop at the playground for core of the Murph consisting of the following rounds, AMRAP style:
- 10 Pull-ups (or Burps…or a combo thereof)
- 20 Merkins
- 30 Squats
After 2 rounds of the above, run the perimeter of the baseball field. Rinse and repeat until Q calls time. All said, most PAX were able to grind through 5 rounds with some go-getters pushing past 6+. Thumper and Turbine were some notable over-achievers (Edit: Thumper pulled a Jelly Lube – look it up). TCLAPS all around.
After sweeping the six, mosey back to the flag for a lightning round of Burps ‘n Merks. In short, an ascending order of Merkins within a Burpee (down, Merkin(s), then complete) with the last round consisting of 10 Merkins. YHC was targeting a full pyramid of 100 Merkins, but ran out of time.
