T-Claps to our crew in Oklahoma

AO: The Storm

When: 2023-10-21

QIC: Swiper

PAX (13): Better Call Saul, Deuce (Jay Mooney), Dumpster, Durty Nelly, Mantooth, Mr. Hand, Pinkman, Prius, Snake, Snowman, Spit Valve, Swiper, FNG Sanford

Preamble:

Great connecting via FaceTime with the crew out in Oklahoma as they took off in pursuit of their 100 mile challenge...

Warm-O-Rama:

After the video call, we broke off into 2 groups and headed out

The Thang:

Runners headed down the new road extension but instead of a left or right decision, we elected to chart new territory and go straight.  This road is not open yet but since that never stopped us on the other one, we headed across the street onto the new Majors Road extension.  Out and Back - great roads to run on

COT:

  • Prayers for Durty Nelly as he navigates the world of new babies and a job search all at the same time.  Prayers for a great experience he had at work that will hopefully be part of his story
  • Continued prayers for Schneider's family as they grieve the loss of his mother
  • Prayers for the runners out in Oklahoma...see below

Naked-Man Moleskin:

If there is one thing we all know, there are things in life that are out of your control.  No matter how much you prepare, no matter how confident you are in the outcome, things can change in an instant...I'm writing this after knowing the outcome of the Ultra in Oklahoma.  First off, I consider the entire crew of that event to be close friends...although none of us really know what it was like, I'd be willing to bet they felt a range of emotions and disappointment was probably one of them at some point.  I just wanted to take a moment and echo what has been shared all day across our various platforms.  On behalf of the crew back home, we couldn't be more proud of the effort that all of you put forward.  There will be times in life when things go your way and there will always be times when you walk straight into a shit show that you didn't see coming...how you respond in those situations is what defines you and I saw nothing but heart, resilience, grit, and most importantly...teamwork from our crew out there.  Hold your heads high brothers - you couldn't have represented F3 Cumming any better and we can't wait to see you all in the gloom whenever you're ready to join us!  In the final episode of Game of Thrones, Tyrion stated that "our stories are what truly define us," and we'll probably hear some good ones!  Safe travels fellas!  Aye!
