Preamble:
Tomorrow is 4 years since my dad passed away. I have a conflict tomorrow, so Thurday-Saturday will be two tribute workouts. I think the best tribute is to do a tough beatdown, so thought back to my second beatdown ever, a Nacho Libre guest Q. Here's the original BB. Let's check the PAX list and see how many will post today:Aflac, Pellets, Scar, Beauty, Spandex, Laces, Virginia Slim, Wolverine, Shrinkage, Puddle Jumper, Tebow, Stroller, Postal, Viking, and Fannie Mae.2 out of 15...which actually highlights the growth we've experienced to end up with a net gain. Aye! Way too much preamble, here we go
Warm-O-Rama:
Mosey to the tennis court lot and circle up for some standard issue stuff. Then, since Q's intro/disclaimer got shouted over (oh wait, that's your regular voice?), we got in plank position so Q could issue disclaimer and give the instruction to find a partner of similar size- which got a totally positive reaction. Then mosey to the soccer field...The Thang:
Same routine issued by Nacho all those years ago. Around the goal box, wheelbarrow short sides and partner carry long sides- Corner 1: Bro-pees
- Corner 2: Patty cake mercans
- Corner 3: Partner plank mercans (only 1 partner does mercans)
- Corner 4: Partner plank mercans, swap positions
- With time on the clock, we lined up on the baseline for some sprints. 50% effort, 30 monkey humpers. 75% effort, 30 monkey humpers. Then 2x AYG, and back to the flag with a few seconds to spare
COT:
- Speedo's MIL and FIL
- Newsletter is out!
- Halpha Day and Convergence May 2-3
Naked-Man Moleskin:
I explained in the COT this morning that this year I wanted to make sure to have a partner component as a reminder of how important it is to support one another during tough times. I am so thankful for everyone who reached out when dad passed away, those who prayed in COT, and those who still ask. Before I went through this I never said anything when someone had a loss- I always felt like I wasn't close enough to them and it would be weird, or I just didn't feel like I had anything adequate to say. I can truly say it's the thought that counts. So the charge for the men today is to think of someone who's struggling and you need to reach out to. Aye??Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
