New Toys!

Preamble:

My plans to set the BD to Handel’s Messiah fell through, so no music today.

Warm-O-Rama:

We mosey’d around the parking lot in case of stragglers.  We didn’t get Bo Knows but we did get Trebek.  First lap included high knees, butt kickers, and caricoaicas, second lap was a straight mosey.  We ended in the corner of the lot nearest the pool where we circled up for standard warm up stuff- weedpickers, windmills, arm circles, covid’s, and imperial walkers.

The Thang:

I tried to incorporate new (to us) stuff from the F3 Nation’s Exicon into the whole BD, so we started with Cocaine Bear Crawls.  Bear Crawl across the parking spaces, and at each white line merkin with your nose touching the line.  We did this until we were back at the flag, where we lined up on the sidewalk for Elizabeth Warrens.  Like an Indian Run and a Bernie, but instead of running we lunge walk backwards and the man in front Bernie’s to the back.  Did this all the way to the FOD.   On the field, YHC set out four small-but-effective cones in a square.  It’s all how you use them.  When Animals Attack is a bear crawl game of tag that sounded really good upon reading, but kinda fell flat in execution.  I’m not going to waste your time explaining it, you can look it up if you’re interested. At least it gave us something legit to complain about.  Next was 11’s on the hill, with Alpha Count Imperial Squat Walkers at the bottom and Broken Bicycles at the top.  The Broken Bicycle is a four-count exercise starting flat on your back, BB up & right knee up to your chest (ONE), back down flat (TWO), BB up & left knee up (THREE), back down flat (FOUR).  Finally, because the animal attack was so lame and didn’t take very long, we circled the infield doing a Bataan Death March.  Everyone got a turn just in time to head back to the flag.

COT:

Prayers for No-See-Um’s dad as they diagnose and develop treatment for his heart issues.  Prayers for Lil Hurt’s aunt who in the hospital with heart issues and diabetes. Major thanks to Lil Hurt for his leadership at Rubicon, glad the new job is going well.  Congrats to Devito as he carries the flag as the new site Q.

Thanks for going along with some new exercises.  Hopefully it’s a nice change to mix up the routines from time to time.  Always a pleasure to lead.
