A Monday Grinder

AO: Boneyard

When: 2023-11-06

QIC: BallBoy

PAX (5): BallBoy, Floater, Mater, Speedo, Stifler (Jeff Levy)

Preamble:

Time for me to make another appearance at the Boneyard and what better way to make me do it than to sign up to Q?  Great AO and lots of options but somehow I'm always drawn to the astroturf and the wonderful (free) pellets I get to go home with!

Warm-O-Rama:

2 laps around the parking lot with slides, butt-kickers, and high knees.  Warm up then continued at mid-field of the turf field with a set of Jack Webbs!  We got our shoulders nice and warm too!

The Thang:

Thang 1: I'm always a Grinder fan and since it isn't used often enough it seemed like a good change-up for this Monday morning.  To get some steps in the two stations were at opposite ends of the LAX field.  The 5 PAX divided into 2 groups of 2 and one group of Me. With a 'group' at both ends, a 'group' would traverse the field while the others performed the current exercise AMRAP until relief arrived.  The relieved group would then traverse to relieve the other group, always performing the next exercise on the list until relief arrived.  Exercises were: Station 1: Big Boys, Mercans, Shoulder Taps, LBCs Station 2: Squats, Flutter Kicks, Squat Jumps, Mountain Climbers Two rounds were completed. Thang 2: Partial 11s (time constrained) in preparation for the 11/11 Convergence on Saturday.  Bonnie Blairs and Wolverines were the exercises.  Stopped at halfway to finish up with one more Thang. Thang 3: Bodies (don't) Hit the Floor: Performed to Bodies by Drowning Pool, all PAX in Plank position.  Whenever we heard "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor", a donkey kick.  During Counting ("1... 2... 3...") a Mercan was performed for each count.  Objective: not to let anything other than hands and feet touch the ground. Time ran out as the song ended and we moseyed back to the flag

COT:

Prayers for Stifler's Dad and Father in Law for health issues and upcoming tests/treatments. Strength for Speedo's Dad as he finishes chemo and it has taken a toll. Convergence Saturday at Hooch (Perimeter Church track/pavilion). See the waiver to fill out on Slack.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

Great weather and great AO.  Thanks for the opportunity to lead!
