Misty morning, unseasonably warm. The only hype was “we’re gonna to try a thing”. 4 HC’s became 7 PAX, and with a disclaimer we were off.
CCR mix tape on the boom box.
We kept the geography tight; a lap around the parking lot and circle near the flag, followed by:
Grabbed our Cinders and headed to our own soccer field of dreams. Picked two lines across the field that probably have a name and are important to soccer players. Made two groups of three for a Cinder Relay, with one PAX at each end & one walking between. Three rounds of each of the following:
Next, we ran around our little made-up rectangle doing the BDM (Bataan Death March):
Last man does 5 Burpees, runs to front
Continue until everyone gets a turn
Next it was time for the GRR (Grip, Rip, & Roll). Totally new to all of us, so it was fun to try something new. It sucks, and the creative minds of Speedo and Zohan are already planning to make it far worse. We did ours around the circle in the middle of the field:
Pick a spot on the circle
Sit by block
Pick up & place on other side
Roll into plank
Roll onto ground sitting
So simple it’s stupid. We all went to the right x20, then back to the left x20.
Wrapped up on the field with another BDM.
Mosey to the flag for some Mary:
Reminder on Santa Ruck tomorrow at 7:30 and Feather’s Christmas party.
Prayers for Speedo’s son as he sorts out college life, and for Zohan’s son who is travelling (and getting paid?!?) to debate.
For some reason, I was dreading this morning as I prepared the BD. Not sure why other than what Steven Pressfield calls “The Resistance” from the lizard brain. No regrets on pushing through that crap- this group is awesome & it was fun to try some stuff. Thanks for following along.
