3 Miles for 3 Years

AO: Big Creek

When: 02/02/2022

QIC: Inseam

PAX (10): Clyde, Crab Cake, Deuce, Dumpster, Goldberg, Inseam, Mr. Hand, Olaf, Schneider, Snowman, Whiz

Preamble:

It’s been the years now, to the day, since @chriskey13 (F3Cherokee’s Rest Stop) dragged me into the sick twisted gloom that was a 100+ PAX Saturday convergence with logs the size of a Volkswagen and running for what felt like 50 miles, but was probably just 2.

Preblast photo created and slackdropped. Silence from YHC thereafter. Notable tomfoolery from my good friends Schneider and Snowman.

YHC skipped the somewhat usual preprerun today, and went straight for the prerun. I just felt like talking to a different group today, no offense Whiz ;). Uncharacteristically, YHC found himself 10 minutes early to the prerun and decided to drive around looking for the preprerunners. They were found, we chatted, I was in my heated vehicle, it was nice.

Back to the flag. Prerun. Sh*t!!!! Snowman down. (I really need to stop running with this dude). Snowman out. Fingers and toes crossed for a healthy report, brother.

Warm-O-Rama:

Back to the flag. Grab a few other. Is that….no….well is it…no….wait it is….Clyde!! He’s back baby!

Mosey past the usual spot. Quick usual warm up. Instructions given.

The Thang:

Circle up at the satellite painground for 3 rounds of Pull ups, Squats, Merkins at 15, 10, and 5 reps, respectively.

Run one lap around the trail loop again (1.28 miles).

Circle up at the satellite painground for 3 rounds of Pull ups again, Squats, Merkins at 15, 10, and 5 reps, respectively.

Head back to the flag. Boom 3 miles for 3 years.

COT:

COT as defined. Prayers. Announcements. Not much going on. TNT. Coffee.

TNT today – reiterating the need to get uncomfortable. Comfort breads stagnation and so many more bad ‘things’.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

My first regular BD was the next week at big creek. The Q had us run around the entire park (its giant) and YHC was in the back for the entire time. The pax took turns running with me to pick up the 6 that day. The Body wouldn’t shut up and take the hint that I couldn’t talk, I was just trying to survive. I was hooked. Our BDs rarely exceed 2 miles and some change. Today the goal was to try and push myself outside my comfort zone like I was that first and second day at Big Creek three years ago. For some reason (def not the hills) the trail we ran today just really sucks for me. I achieved the goal for today, the run sucked, and it was great. I’m a completely different human than I was before, thanks to F3, and thanks to you HIM.

Cheers to at least 50 more!
