Dark Side of the Rube

AO: Rubicon

When: 02/01/2022

QIC: FannyPack

PAX (8): False Start, FannyPack, Groundhog, Lefty, No-See-Um, Red Ryder, Special K, Stiff Arm

Preamble:

2/1 is a New Moon, meaning no visible moon in the sky & extra gloom.  Only one album seemed appropriate, given it’s 43 minute play time.  Awesome showing by 8 PAX- clear night sky, mellow tunes, and a full-body blend of Exicon classics.  PSA’s on coming events: IronPax (Cinders, in September) and Christmas (it’s 12/25 this year).

Warm-O-Rama:

Disclaimer, start the music, & head straight to FOD with Cinders.  Drop the blocks and circle up:

  • SSH
  • Windmills
  • Weedpickers
  • Imperial Walkers
  • Arm Circles
    • Forward Big
    • Forward Small
    • Reverse Big
    • Reverse Small

The Thang:

Morning Call: Mosey a bit to the nearest playground, everyone plank in a row, first PAX does 5 pullups on some weird bars counting off.  Other PAX do Mercans in time.  Second PAX repeats, continue down the line.

Balls to the Wall, Last Man Standing:  Mosey back towards FOD & stop at a random storage container on the way.  The corrugated steel walls were both cold and groovy.  Special K made that container his own by outlasting us all.

Dora 1-2-3:  Back at FOD, pair up for a Cinder Dora 1-2-3.

  • 100 OH Press
  • 200 Curls
  • 300 Rows

Captain Thor:  Big boys & alpha count American Hammers in a 1:4 ratio.  YHC called the starting number for each set, otherwise on our own.

At about 7:28, I heard Stiff Arm say, “this is excellent”.  I have no idea what he was referring to.

All PAX finished at around 43 mins- we had about 30 seconds to appreciate the morning sky as the album wrapped up.

Mosey back to the flag.

COT:
