Rucking ‘Round The Core Principles

AO: Big Creek

When: 08/15/2019

QIC: Inseam

PAX (9): Vicuña, Olaf, Body, Snake, Bell, Whiz, Sculley, Clyde, and Inseam

Preamble:

With GrowRuck15 right around the corner, YHC not being able to make it to many nigh rucks lately, AND with there being a nice big opening on the Q-sheet, YHC could not ignore the signs on this one…Ruck beatdowns have officially made it to The Creek.  Judging by the numbers and the mumble chatter, it was well received. Only had a few HCs on slack, so it was quite a nice surprise rolling up and seeing a full parking lot!

Warm-O-Rama:

  • Come screeching in with 3 minutes to spare
  • Get out of truck
  • Load ruck sack
  • Lace shoes

The Thang:

There are 5 core principles in F3…YHC could not remember the last time the PAX went through these. Today’s gloom will provide the perfect opportunity for a refresher.

The plan: Ruck the highlighted path below, stopping at each number and calling on a Pax to recite the corresponding Core Principle. Get it right and we will only add a zero to the Core Principle number. Get it wrong and we will not only add a zero, but also double. All performed with your ruck.

  1. Are free of charge – Merkins – R=10 W=20
  2. Are open to all men – Plank Pull Throughs – R=20 W=40
  3. Are held outdoors, rain or shine, heat or cold – American Hammer – R=30 W=60
  4. Are led by men who participate in the workout in a rotating fashion, with no training or certification necessary – Curl/Skull Crusher Combo – R=40 W=80
  5. End with a Circle of Trust – Deadlift – R=50 W=100

Once we got going, YHC made a few field modifications to the desired path due to time limitations…All good things must come to an end. However, we landed back at the flag at 6:14 on the dot with just enough time for the 5th Principle. I learned not to doubt the HIM of Big Creek, nary a single Principle was missed (a slight push or two of assistance from fellow Pax was utilized a time or two)

.

COT:

Recite the 5th, and most important, Core Principle. Couple Pax headed over to Grimes Bridge Park (home of GR15) to do a little rucking after work Monday, August 19th, come on out.

Naked-Man Moleskin:

YHC loves seeing the PAX embrace rucking! Wether you exploded every ligament in your knee 7 months ago, or you are planning on running the BRR two weeks after you complete GR15, rucking was able to provide a superb workout experience coupled with excellent mumble chatter and fellowship. Thanks to all for coming out and rucking with YHC this morning, SYITG.
