The temperature was unusual as it was “only” 58 and breezy this morning. We left for a run up to the highest place in Alpharetta… the roof if you will. Preston Ridge.
We left 35 Milton heading East down Academy until it turns into Webb Bridge, across GA 400 to a right on Morris then a left on Preston Ridge and we turned into the parking lot of the highest office building there.
We stopped in the parking lot and YHC recounted the last night of Jesus life before Crucifixion where Jesus told Peter that he would deny him three times before the cock crowed. As it turns out, it was about time for the cock to crow. Peter did deny he knew Jesus. Swore he did not know him. Only hours after eating with him and saying he would fight to the death to defend Jesus. After the cock crowed he was reminded of his oath and his failure and he went out and wept bitterly.
We all have times when we hear the cock crow and are reminded of our failure. Where we had committed our selves to Jesus and then fail him hours later. We let him down, disappoint him. But just like Jesus restored Peter to fellowship and forgave Peter, he will forgive us and tell us he loves us.
After the brief pause we left the roof of Alpharetta and ran back down to Old Milton and back to South Main and our start at Milton Ave.
Encourage one another. Seek to live boldly as Christ wants you to.
