As YHC approaches a new year of this gift of life he does so with humility, thanksgiving, and perhaps a bit of caution credited to the wisdom of his years. Therefore the party is started with a disclaimer (which included warnings of the possible effects of YHC’s LP9 early birthday gift of a Taco making class the night before – cuidado) and off the PAX went to the stairs.
At the top of the stairs party appetizers were offered in the form of 10 SSH, 15 Hillbillies, and 15 Mountain Climbers.
The Party Goes into Full Swing
YHC served the next party refreshment in the form of a Catch Me If You Can game. Partnering up, PAX 1 did 15 merkins while PAX 2 lunge walked around the dirt track at the top of the hill (lunge walking being the cautious and wise alternative to running backwards in this dark and uneven terrain). Repeat until each PAX does 3 sets of merkins and then short plank for the 6. By this time the party was getting out of hand, as all good parties do, so YHC decided to throw caution to the wind and do rounds 2 and 3 with running backwards instead of lunge walking while partner PAX does 15 star jumps (round 2) and 15 J- Lo’s (round 3) for three sets each, planking for the 6 after each round.
Next the party moved to the bottom of the stairs for some modified Dora’s. Modified slightly to celebrate the many years YHC has walked this earth, the PAX shared 145 merkins, 245 squats, and 345 LBCs while taking turns running the stairs.
The party wound down just in time for COT And Name-o-Rama for FNG Skid.
COT: Prayers for Skid’s friend Chad whose wife had an accident, Praise for the men who came out to be better men, Thanksgiving for the bonds and character being forged.
MOLESKIN: This was my first birthday Q and it honestly felt in many ways like hosting my own birthday party and Candy Creek was a better birthday venu than Showbiz ever was (what has F3 done to my head?!?). I felt truly honored to lead the PAX this morning and blessed to lead the PAX this morning and blessed at being a part of this group. Much respect to everyone who came out. HIM Sunshine even carried a rucksack the entire beatdown. Looking back, I think 16 is a new personal record for the amount of people who YHC has ever had show up for a birthday party, so thanks for that too. Oh, and if you couldn’t tell by the Dora’s and Catch-Me (15×3), I will be turning 45 tomorrow and I feel a lot better now than I did at 40.
